Difference between submersible pump and deep well pump
2023-03-06

◆ Deep well pumps and submersible pumps are centrifugal pumps, with the same working principle and different structures

Here we will talk about the use characteristics of submersible pump. Generally speaking, submersible pump is a kind of pump product that can be directly placed in water (below the water surface) for pumping operation after upgrading. This is also the main feature that distinguishes it from general ground water pump products. It does not need to conduct water diversion before operation. It is simple to install, convenient to use, and widely used. As it is placed in water to directly use water for all-around cooling, it has high efficiency and can operate for a long time.

The common point of deep well pump and submersible pump (ordinary) is that they can and must be submerged to start operation. What are the main differences between the two?

Ordinary submersible pumps are usually designed with single-stage impeller (the so-called single-stage pump). Generally, the effective lift is small, and the pump body volume is large, so the relatively narrow space cannot be used. At the same time, the power of the pump motor is also small. It is mainly used for clear water, sewage and other liquids. Its application is mainly in shallow water areas.

Deep well pump, also known as deep well submersible pump, is a pump product specially designed and manufactured for use occasions and working conditions (deep well is characterized by deep well and small diameter for effective use). Due to the high lift required by deep wells, deep well pumps are mostly designed with multi-stage impellers (so-called multi-stage pumps). Due to the small diameter of deep wells, the pump body of deep well pumps is also designed with a slender design to meet the requirements for use. At the same time, the high lift of the pump also means that the power of the pump motor is larger.

The use environment and working conditions of deep well pumps are relatively high, and their requirements on material selection, structural design, processing and manufacturing are higher than those of ordinary submersible pumps. Therefore, in normal use, they have better quality and longer service life than ordinary submersible pumps.
